If you take a look at the top charts on Billboard you see song after song of a rapper featuring a singer or vice-versa. Finding a tune that is pure R&B or pure rap seems to be difficult today.

I don't know if this trend is always for the better. Bringing a singer in for the chorus on a rap song is an easy out. Automatic hook. Same with bringing a rapper on the verse. Automatic narrative. The problem is when one is obviously better than the other. "Meet Me Halfway" has such a great chorus that outshines the rest of the track.

I think I like my R&B and rap separated. But maybe I'm old and out of touch too.MOTMMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05928646422914580834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1150481580326775902.post-65870474532613657632014-02-03T23:19:56.731-05:002014-02-03T23:19:56.731-05:00I always run through your transcriptions on the cl...I always run through your transcriptions on the classical guitar. I think I could make this chorus work as a wedding processional. MOTMMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05928646422914580834noreply@blogger.com
